Each year students raise funds for an End-of-the-Year Field Trip. Students develop organizational skills, leadership, and basic finance awareness by planning fundraisers throughout the year. Their fundraisers are original and festive. They have organized a Halloween puppet show at an art gallery in downtown Point Arena, a pumpkin and apple pie bake for Thanksgiving, the raffle of a blanket made from wool shorn from local sheep (donated by a school family) as a December gift, custom-love poems at the Arena Theater for Valentine’s Day, homemade truffles in handmade origami boxes for Mother’s Day, bulb sales for Spring, and of course bake sales.
The End-of-the Year field trip is a special celebration of the successes throughout the year.
